Women S Say :A diet rich in fat seen as serious
Women over the age of 50 who consume a diet rich in fat in the face of a much greater risk of strokes. “It’s a huge increase is likely to be is to be avoided. What is bad for the heart is bad for the brain,” Dr. Emil Matarese, President of the Stroke St. Mary’s Medical Center says.LOS Angeles, CA (Catholic Online) – The results of the study conducted at the American Stroke Association revealed that women who ate the most fat to their risk 44 percent of the most common type of stroke compared with those who ate less. The study included 87,230 participants in the Women’s Health Initiative.

Reported the presence of 288 strokes in a group of women who ate larger amounts of fat per day (95 grams) compared to 249 strikes in the group eating less fat (25 grams).

The study also found greater than 30 percent risk of stroke among women eating the most saturated fat, usually found in fried foods, biscuits and cakes.

Pre-menopausal women usually exposed to substantially lower risk of stroke that men of a similar age. After menopause, and higher risks of stroke and the advantage disappears between the sexes.

All this may change with the increasing rates of obesity at the national and meals of the poor.

Doctors recommend that more women look at the labels to see how much fat in their diet. “This is a simple way that any woman, especially women after menopause, and can improve their health. Simply to avoid fried foods is a big one,” one researcher says.

And the American Heart Association recommends limiting fat to less than 25 percent to 35 percent of total calories, and saturated fat to less than 1 percent.
