Maria Sharapova continued her amazing run through the 2009 French Open on Sunday as the Russian shook off a terrible second set to knock off Na Li 6-4, 0-6, 6-4 on the clay courts of Roland Garros to advance to the quarterfinals and keep her hopes of a career Grand Slam alive.

Sharapova was able to overcome several mistakes including eight double-faults and 33 unforced errors to knock off Na. The Russian capitalized on her break-point opportunities as she collected five breaks on six chances to inch closer to her first French Open singles title.

Sharapova has won three Grand Slam singles titles in her career with her first coming at Wimbledon in 2004. Her next title came at the U.S. Open in 2006 and in 2008 she won the Australian Open, leaving only the French Open as the only Grand Slam event she hasn’t won. Her best finish at Roland Garros was a semifinals appearance in 2007.
