Bamako: a stampede at the main mosque in Mali in the north-west city of Timbuktu, left at least 15 people were crushed to death and several were wounded, officials and witnesses said on Friday.
“People were flying over the mosque, and rituals in each of their children (celebrating the birthday of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and there was a huge crowd built up,” one of the witnesses, and Muhammad Bandjougou, said the incident on Thursday evening.
“There were at least 15 people. The bodies were taken to the morgue,” he told a foreign news.
